Student Eligibility
Enrollment in the State Funded Pre-K programs (Whitehall, Parkview, Denmark, Malesus, Lane, Arlington, South, and Beech Bluff) is based upon a child's eligibility as identified in TCA 49-6-101-104 and as cited in the local criteria by the Community Pre-K Advisory Council. Jackson-Madison County School System will enroll any at-risk child who is four years old by September 30 and resides in the geographic area of the district, with first priority given to those students who meet income eligibility guidelines.
Enrollment in the Stimulus Funded Pre-K programs (Lincoln and Alexander) is based upon a child's eligibility as identified by No Child Left Behind and as cited in the local criteria by the Community Pre-K Advisory Council. First priority will be given to those students who score below 35 (3.8 age equivalent) on AGS Cognitive/Language Screening.
Pre-K Registration/Enrollment Window
Parents are to bring the listed documents: January 5th - February 26th, 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Jackson-Madison County Board of Education, Office of Pre-K, 310 North Parkway, 731.410.6305.
- 1. Student's birth certificate or officially acceptable evidence of date of birth
- 2. Three proofs of residence
- 3. Evidence of current medical examination
- 4. Evidence of state required immunization
- 5. Parent/Guardian proof of income
Consideration will be given to qualifying zoned students and/or siblings of students already enrolled in the school. Should there be more students apply than available slots, then a lottery will be held in April for the remaining slots. A waiting list will be maintained and updated.
